Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane – City Highlights

Welcome to Laos. Please arrive before 12:00 PM.

Our team will pick you up from Udonthani Airport and transfer you to Vientiane, approx. 1.5 hours.

In the afternoon, explore the capital’s treasures — visit Wat Sisaket, the city’s oldest temple, the iconic That Luang Stupa, and the giant reclining Buddha. We’ll also stop for photos at Patuxay Monument, famously modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

Enjoy some free time to explore on your own before dinner.

Day 2: High-Speed Train to Luang Prabang & Mekong Villages

Meals: Breakfast | Overnight: Luang Prabang – Le Bel Air Hotel & Resort 4 or similar*

An early start today. Breakfast at 06:30 AM, followed by a transfer to Vientiane train station for your high-speed EMU train to Luang Prabang. The train departs at 07:30 AM and arrives between 09:45 – 11:49 AM.

Upon arrival, you will be met by your private driver. We’ll visit the Former Royal Palace Museum and then cruise along the Mekong River to the sacred Pak Ou Caves.

Along the way, we stop at two famous artisan villages — Ban Xanghai to taste the local rice wine, and Ban Xang Khong to see traditional Saa paper made from mulberry bark.

Day 3: Temples, Kuang Si Waterfall & Night Market

Morning – The Royal Temples
After breakfast at 07:00 AM, we begin sightseeing at 08:00 AM. Today is all about Luang Prabang’s spiritual heritage.

• Wat Xieng Thong: The “Temple of the Golden City,” built between 1559-1560 by King Setthathirath. It’s the most important monument of Lao royal heritage.
• Wat Visoun: Originally built in 1513 by King Visoun, destroyed in 1887, and rebuilt in 1896-1898. It once housed the sacred Phra Bang Buddha.
• Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham: Built in 1796 and beautifully restored in 1821, famous for its impressive 4-tiered roof and intricate bas-reliefs depicting the life of Prince Vessantara.

We’ll also visit Ban Xang Khong, home to the Lue ethnic community known for its handicrafts.

Around 12:00 PM, enjoy a local Lao set menu for lunch.

Afternoon – Nature and Sunset
Head to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall, a beautiful three-tiered waterfall located about 29 km south of town. Take a dip in its turquoise pools.

At around 15:00, we return to town and hike up Phousi Hill for a panoramic sunset view.

Enjoy dinner with a local Lao set menu at 18:00, followed by time to shop and stroll through the famous Luang Prabang Night Market. Transfer back to your hotel at 20:30.

Day 4: Sacred Alms-Giving Ceremony & Departure

Wake up early for one of Laos’s most spiritual moments. At 06:00 AM, witness the Tak Bat Alms-Giving Ceremony, where saffron-robed monks walk silently through the streets collecting morning offerings from locals.

After breakfast, visit the bustling Talathxao local market, then transfer to the Luang Prabang train station or airport for your onward journey. Your tour ends here.
