Varanasi Street Food and Ganga Aarti Experience

Your guide will meet you outside Hotel Ganges Grand in Godowlia at 5:00 PM. From here, you will begin a relaxed food walk through the lively streets of central Varanasi.

Along the way, you will taste around 6 different local dishes and specialties, giving you an opportunity to discover some of the flavors that make Banarasi food so unique.

Taste Traditional Banarasi Snacks

Your food walk includes a selection of popular local treats. You may begin with Banarasi Nankhatai, a traditional Indian biscuit known for its rich, crumbly texture and preparation with cashew nuts.

Next, enjoy the famous Banarasi Tamatar Chaat, a flavorful local specialty that combines tomatoes, spices, chutneys and other ingredients to create a distinctive Varanasi street-food experience.

You will also have the opportunity to try a paneer-style snack made with tofu, along with several other carefully selected local dishes.

To keep the experience authentic and interesting, approximately 6 different food items are included in the tour. Some dishes are intentionally not listed in advance so that you can discover them during the walk.

Evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat

After exploring Varanasi’s street food, continue with your guide towards Dashashwamedh Ghat, one of the most famous ghats on the River Ganges.

Here, you will experience the mesmerizing evening Ganga Aarti, a traditional Hindu ceremony performed beside the sacred Ganges. Watch as priests perform the ritual with lamps, incense and devotional chants while the atmosphere around the ghat comes alive.

Your seating place will be reserved in advance, allowing you to enjoy the ceremony from a designated viewing area without having to search for a place to sit.

Tour Ends at 8:30 PM

After the Ganga Aarti, your guide will accompany you back towards the central area, where the tour ends at approximately 8:30 PM.

From there, you are free to decide what you would like to do next. You can continue exploring Varanasi, return to your hotel, or enjoy the evening atmosphere around Godowlia and the ghats.
